        • The accounting part of Real Estate Investing

          Come join us as Cumberland County Commissioner W. Marshall Faircloth talks about the accounting side of Real Estate with owning rental property and what's in store going forward with Cumberland County.

          W. Marshall Faircloth was first elected in 1992 to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners as a District 2 representative and served until 1996. He was re-elected to the board in 2008 and his current four-year term expires in 2016. Commissioner Faircloth served one term as chairman in 2012 and is currently serving his second term as vice chairman.

          As a member of the Cape Fear Valley Hospital System Board of Trustees, he has been appointed to the Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Compensation and Investment Committee, Bladen Hospital Board of Directors, Board Quality and Patient Safety Committee and Diversity Practice Committee.

          Mr. Faircloth is a current or former board of commissioner liaison to the Social Services Board, Mental Health Board, Municipal Parking Committee, Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Greater Fayetteville Futures II, Joint Transit Study Committee, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Joint Planning Board.  He was appointed as a member of the Child Homicide and Identification and Prevention Council and the Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board.  He served on the Cumberland County Personnel, Finance and Policy committees, and is a former chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Education and City of Fayetteville Planning Commission. 

          A native of Cumberland County, he attended Cumberland County Schools. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked in public accounting and financial consulting in Fayetteville since 1972.

          Commissioner Faircloth and his wife, Carol, have grown children. His hobbies include golf, physical fitness, playing the guitar, traveling, reading and watching sports.

Any novice / new investor is strongly encouraged to attend his meetings to learn more about the basics of REI. Antonio will cover various topics to include: the fundamentals of REI investing, asset protection, the basics of wholesaling, rehabbing and commercial investing, etc. If you have any interest in REI at all, then you need to attend Antonio's sub group.
